“Beware the Highs of March”

Hey friends and fiends!

For those of you who are keeping score, the high five of us are 3 for 3 so far, in our quest to release a new song each month this year~

All the Time ~ our tribute to the great synth wave, dance-pop sounds of Jupiters and drum machines from the 70s and 80s.

Half the Man ~ a smooth, sultry and sultanic swinging groove that some have described as a curious blend of “60’s psycho-delic soul”.

Feeling a bit romantic, we released Lurker just in time for Valentine’s Day. It’s a true classic rock creeper! Perhaps even like a film noir, thriller on the storm?

Coming very soon~

Another Letdown & No Easy Cure.

“‘Cuz there always will be and nor will there be.”

Tata, for now.

The latest in a storied line of great bands from a city steeped in musical history and rock’n’roll traditions, The 5 Highs were formed in San Francisco by an eccentric group of musicians from lives as varied and kaleidoscopic as their musical tastes. Yet they all found themselves, and each other, in the parking lot of Light Rail Studios.

CUT., the band’s debut was storytelling, scored by the blending of these experiences, musical backgrounds and a shared joy of creating music together. Whether grooving to the 80’s new wave influenced title track, or swooning to the soulful “Slippin’ Away”, or cruising to the left coast-country musings of “Half Moon Bay”, it may be hard to describe their music by conventional standards. The band simply refers to their full-spectrum sound Avant-Harde.
